The people listed on the left below are all descended from Hannah Thorogood 1802 or her sister Mary Thorogood 1808: see the PDF file thorogood.pdf (opens in a new tab). Those on the right are AncestryDNA matches with some of the others, as shown. (The superscripts D,P denote "matches Douglas" and "matches Pamela", respectively. The people in italic are only distant matches, <20cM.)

There is also a Sarah Thorogood, who married a John Cockerton. John witnessed the marriages of Thomas Clark to Hannah Thorogood in 1823, and of Willian Newman to Mary Thorogood in 1834. The first of these was a double marriage: Thomas and Hannah were married with witnesses John and Sarah, and then John and Sarah were married with witnesses Thomas and Hannah. I assume Sarah was related to Hannah and Mary, but I do not know how; she does not seem to have been a sister.
Many of the people above, and a few other DNA matches of ours, have Thorogood ancestors from villages in Essex, but with little known connection between them, as shown in the PDF files thoro_d_1.pdf and thoro_d_2.pdf (PDF files open in a new tab.)
[Note that Thorogood has many variant spellings, such as Thurrogood, Thurrowgood, Thorrowgood, Thorowgood, Thorougood, Thoroughgood, Thourgood and Thurgood; a search for Th*good will catch them all. (In Soundex, Thorogood is equivalent to Thurgood but not to Thoroughgood.) The same person's name may be spelt in different ways on different records. If in doubt, I default to Thorogood.]
