*1 These people have nearest common ancestors Joseph Sewell and Elizabeth Collins, as shown in this PDF (opens in a new tab). Joseph and Elizabeth married in Felsted, Essex, in 1802. The birth years given in the PDF correspond to what seem to me to be their most likely baptisms, but there are other possibilities.

*2 These people have nearest common ancestors John Stringer 1839 and Elizabeth Ann Knight 1845, both born in Barking, Essex.

*3 These people have nearest common ancestors Samual Free 1761 and Susannah Pearson 1764, both born in Hadstock, Essex, as shown in this PDF (opens in a new tab).

Several of the above people have Thorogood ancestors from villages in Essex, but with no known connection between them, as shown in this PDF (opens in a new tab; for other disconnected Thorogoods, see Clique 8).

It is unlikely that Ann Scavilla and I are related to any of the others above, since none of them match my second cousin Pamela Bagley, who shares all the common ancestors of Ann and me.
